Hence selection of the right fumigant and its appropriate use is of great importance. Fumigation has an important position in PCOs activities as it is the most effective, convenient and quick curative method. Fumigants act on all insect life stages.

They control pests by diffusing through the air spaces between grain kernels as well into the kernel itself. Fumigants are able to penetrate into places that are inaccessible to insecticide sprays or dusts.

Termites are one of the most destructive pests ever found in household. They attack all kind of building made of cement, mud and wood. Termites are found in Nepal from West to East and South to North. We have already done hundreds of treatment to protect private properties and some of the valuable monuments like temples, monarch, old and valuable wooden carvings.

(i) Pre-construction treatment

Soil treatment is the ideal method of termite control. In new building under construction, the soil around the building and beneath the floor is immediately charged with soil toxicants so as to create a chemical barrier impregnable to termites. Also all vulnerable locations such as points where underground soil pipes and electric cables enter the external plinth wall are well treated with soil toxicants.

(ii) Post-construction treatment
